Voting Campaigns/ Review Bombing

About a week ago I wrote a report detailing some ratings bombings in regards to a certain title I had seen in a discord server. I received an email back assuring me that there are safeguards in place. However I lacked some key details in my initial email that I have yet to mention. As I do not want to keep sending emails to imdb support with more information, I was curious as to if I can provide the support team with exact details (Title of show, methods used, dates, first-hand accounts witnessing people working on review bombing, etc) in a formal report rather than keep sending through emails with more information that is likely to get ignored due to it potentially being flagged as spam.

Hello Andrew247

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Our voting system already detects and defeats attempts to stuff the ballot and skew the rating, as demonstrated by the difference between the weighted average and the arithmetic mean on the vast majority of titles in the database.

For additional information about IMDb ratings and weighted averages, please refer to our FAQ here: https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/track-movies-tv/ratings-faq/G67Y87TFYYP6TWAV

Hi Fran. Thanks for responding to my message. I have already read those FAQ's before sending my initial report email. I considered not sending my findings at the time due to already reading them however, this group seem to have found a way to exploit IMDB's rating database (even though your rating calculation system has several safeguards) on this particular title's rating by doing more than just organizing fans to review bomb aswell as over a certain period of time. If you would like to hear more, I can provide you with the details on how they did it mentioned in my previous post. However, if you are confident that it had no effect, that's ok.

Cheers,

Andrew
