Video Game's Original Title - Production Language vs. First Release Language

I've noticed an issue with the title of the video game "Resident Evil 6/Biohazard 6" [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2193031], and would like some clarity on which should be the controlling "Original Title".

The current IMDb title policy states: "We use the original title of a movie/show in its original language as it appears on screen (on the title card) in the opening credits. So all alternative titles found on posters, DVD boxes, [...] etc. are irrelevant."

--  The video game was released for the PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 on October 2nd, 2012 in North America, South America, Europe, and Australia all with the video game's title screen displaying the title as "Resident Evil 6".

--  The video game was released for the PlayStation 3 & Xbox 360 on October 4th, 2012 in Japan and Korea with the video game's title screen displaying the title as "Biohazard 6".

Granted, the "Biohazard/Resident Evil" series is a Japanese production with a Japanese country of origin, but does the English-language title take precedence if it was released prior to the Japanese title?

In either event, the name "Baiohazâdo 6" is completely wrong, as that was never used on either the English or Japanese title screens, nor did it even appear on any of the box art. So should the correction be made to show the Original Title as "Resident Evil 6" (first release title) or "Biohazard 6" (later release, but country of origin language)?

While the Japanese game box does use the kana/kanji name "バイオハザード6", which is transliterated into Roman characters as "Baiohazâdo 6", neither of them were used on the title screen and should be listed as AKA titles.

  •  the box art title "Resident Evil 6" (US: PS3 / Xbox), (UK: PS3 / Xbox), (Europe: PS3), (AU: PS3 / Xbox).
  •  the box art titles "Biohazard 6: バイオハザード6" (PS3 / Xbox) and "Biohazard 6: 바이오하차드" (PS3 / Xbox), respectively.

So should the correction be made to show the Original Title as "Resident Evil 6" (first release title) or "Biohazard 6" (later release, but country of origin language)?

So, considering that the IMDb staff went with "Resident Evil 6" as the original title, I'm guessing that they prefer the "first release title" over "subsequent country of origin language title".

Correct, we list titles as they show originally on screen, as you mentioned in this case "Resident Evil 6".

"We use the original title of a movie/show in its original language as it appears on screen (on the title card) in the opening credits."
