Vicar of Dibley episodes

An editor has meddled with the episode numbers on this series yet again, adding two specials to the end of series 1, despite the fact that they were broadcast 1.5 to 2 years later - so we now have an episode 1.7 and 1.8. Worse still this time, we now have a series 4 and a series 5, neither of which exist! The various specials have all been given episode numbers. The BBC and the DVDs both list the series as having 3 series only and all of the other episodes are specials.

I have submitted edits to remove the numbers, but these have not been dealt with and the incorrect episode numbers still appear online. What is tiresome is that this has happened on other British sitcoms and I have had to get all of the episode numbers manually removed by your staff.

We still have the problem that unnumbered (and correctly unnumbered) episodes are edited (numbered) by new users - such changes should not be accepted - especially as the reverse seems not to be accepted as an edit now. Frustrating.

Please remove the episode numbers for the episodes which have been numbered 1.7, 1.8, 4.1, 4.2, 5.1, 5.2 ad 5.3. The other sitcoms which have had this problem several times, have been dealt with and it hasn't happened again - so hopefully they have been locked. The Vicar of Dibley episodes in question also needs to be locked to stop this from happening again. Thank you.

Hi dale79 -

Thanks for reporting, I suspect the confusion in numbering episodes and seasons for this series is due to how the titles are listed on Amazon Prime Video, which has the special episodes listed as a season 4.

The order numbers have now been removed from the episode titles you reported.

Cheers!

Thank you.

I have a very similar issue with another series - Jonathan Creek.  https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118363/reference/

The episodes which have been given numbers 2.7, 3.7, 4.7, 4.8, 4.9 and 5.4 are holiday specials or one-offs (and are listed as such on the BBC i-player as well as in the DVD box-set) and should NOT have episode numbers and in no way do they form part of the series they have been haphazardly attached to. Series 4, for example, aired in 2003, whilst the episodes which have been given the numbers 7, 8 and 9 were only aired in 2009, 2010 and 2013, i.e. up to a decade later!

Please would you remove these episode numbers? I submitted the appropriate corrections, but I don't know if they will be accepted without me mentioning the problem here.
