Valid credits being constantly deleted
I have been updating the TV series Neighbours (1985) - tt0088580 - as new episodes go to air. In this series, the 18 or so regular cast members are listed on the end credits for every episode, not just those in which they appear. This then followed by recurring and guest artist credits. When updating the episodes, one of the things I do is mark any regular cast who did not appear with a “credit only” attribute, which is the correct course of action. A day or so later, another editor keeps deleting these actors who did not appear, and has even gone back over weeks of episodes to do likewise. Originally my request to re-add these missing credits was rejected due to “no evidence”, so I resubmitted them all with screenshots and an explanation, and they were approved. However, since then some of the same credits have been deleted again, along with those for newer episodes. I am having to submit requests on an almost daily basis to have credits re-added that should never have been deleted in the first place. It also seems that I have to provide evidence that specific actors were credited, but the other person or persons do not have to provide evidence that they were not credited!! The list of episodes that have been affected is substantial, but currently the outstanding issues are with episodes 1.9188 1.9189 1.9190 and 1.9191. The most recent correction requests I have submitted are: 250217-185431-404000 250217-185900-073000 250217-190338-909000 250217-190636-145000 Please can you assist with this? As a side-note, as frustrating as this issue is, I can understand why some editors are reluctant to list “credit only” cast members, because these episodes are included in their total episode count and on numerous occasions i have read articles claiming an actor appeared in every episode of a series because that’s what the IMDb data implies. I would like to suggest that IMDb looks at a way of displaying an actor’s actual episode count that does not include “credit only” episodes. “Archive footage” entries are not included, so it shouldn’t be too hard to change an algorithm so that “credit only” entries are ignored too. Many thanks CaptainSiCo ✈️

Hi I’m sorry to say that this issue is still occurring. Last week I had to reinstate valid credits for four episodes (9192-9195) and today I have had to do this for a further eight episodes (9196-9203). Not only is an editor deleting cast credits from these episodes but in some cases also changing the order of credits for no apparent reason. They also changed the credit for an uncredited extra to a credited “numbered” appearance higher in the list than permanent cast! These are the amendments I submitted last week, which were actioned: 250226-203508-232000 250226-203903-431000 250226-204534-120000 250226-204919-552000 These are the amendments submitted this morning, which are pending. I actually forgot to include an explanation so it’s possible they will not be approved without intervention: 250310-083222-677000 250310-083930-943000 250310-094910-137000 250310-095048-991000 250310-095159-134000 Please will you look into this and take further action. I am hesitant to mark cast and crew lists as “complete” because not all crew are added (only major credits) and someone may wish to add genuine submissions later. EDIT: Sorry - I’m not sure why paragraphs aren’t showing, making this post look very untidy and unprofessional! They show when I attempt to edit.

Thanks Maya for your ongoing assistance. I’m sorry to have to report that this issue is still ongoing - an editor continues to delete valid credits from episodes on a weekly basis. Today I have had to submit corrections to restore “credit only” entries to episodes 9204-9207: 250318-083459-556000 250318-083714-788000 250318-084016-477000 250318-084317-882000 Whether these deletions are being done in good faith or as a deliberate contravention of the site rules, all they achieve is creating extra work for other editors and staff. If it is the same person doing this every week - which I suspect - have they been contacted and advised to stop? Please help!! CaptainSiCo ✈️

And it’s happened again! Valid credits have been deleted from episodes 9208-9211. It appears that every weekend this editor “works on” the four episodes transmitted the previous week and deletes these credits. Here are the reference numbers for the correction submissions: 250324-135000-707000 250324-135146-837000 250324-135305-241000 250324-135524-926000 It appears that staff reaching out to this editor and pointing out their errors is having no effect. Can this be escalated or alternative action taken please? Many thanks An exasperated CaptainSiCo 😉
