Updating the Title release
I was wondering if it is possible to update the release date of a film.
The film was originally released in 2028- however the film is being re-released in 2024 with a new cut of the film.
I tried editing the page with adding in a re-release, however it still says 2018 in the title. Is there a way to change this to 2024?

Adding a re-release date to a title will not change the title year that displays at the top of the page. This is because the earliest release date is considered the original release date, which corresponds to the year the title released and therefore cannot be changed by adding a release date with a later year. Unless of course, the title was never originally released in 2018. For an example, please see the (re-release) dates and title year for https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0364569/releaseinfo/.
Along with the re-release date, if there is a new cut of the film being released, you may also want to add Alternate version information to the title.
