Updating informations about me

In fact the problem comes from a misspelling of my name: Franchot instead Blanchot.

Huh?

So...what is your name and which are your credits???

You're registered here as "Sylain Blanchot."

When searched you say you get "Blanchot Sylvain."

You say this is you, "Sylvain Franchot."

Could those titles belong to someone else? It doesn't seem that is your name...so what makes you think the page refers to you if that's not your name, nor your credits???

Can you clarify with what your name is and which credits belong to you?

Well, I know I worked on WRACKED (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2386504/)
You can see the entire movie here : http://www.sblanchot.com/?page_id=59
My name is in the credits at the end of the film. It is Blanchot. Not Franchot...

And I know I never worked on "A Girl's Guide to 21st Century Sex"

My credits should be:
Dead to Rights II (head of game design)
This is Ok.

And Wracked (the short movie I spoke just before)

In fact I saw this misspelling problem on my wikipedia page.
(sorry it is in french):
http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sylvain_...
"(en) Sylvain Blanchot sur l’Internet Movie Database (Par erreur IMDb indique Sylvain Franchot)"

So, it looks like your name was added to DtR II, reversed, then a credit meant for someone else got added to that page (A Girl's Guide...). Then stacked got entered, creating a new page.

So, I think the credit thatndoesn't belong to you needs to be spun off to where it, and to whom it, belongs, then the two pages that are you need to be merged and spelled correctly.

Let me take another look in the morning (or maybe some night owl, or someone in a daylight time zone, can jump in) to see how best to attack this mess!. I'll try, as soon as I can.

As I felt it needed a longish explanation I submitted a name merge for Sylvain Franchot and a name correction for Blanchot Sylvain.

Name merge:
130822-145658-175000

Name correction:
130822-145919-378000

We'll need to find who the credits on A Girl's Guide to 21st Century Sex.belong to. The credits do say Sylvain Blanchot (they go passed very fast bit a bit of pausing lets you see the name clearly enough):

Thanks. That's exactly what I came up with. It's clearly the same name, same spelling...so they get rolled off to a second Sylvain, as Sylvain (II), right?

Now to go back to that show and take some notes...

Be careful, I skipped threw and saw some... eye opening sights!! I may have to have a quiet lie down in a darkened room (or I'll end up wondering about how they found such tiny cameramen).

Ok, thanks.
Yes, I saw the name is the credits.
Mmh. So there is probably another Sylvain Blanchot.
Or there is an error in his name in the credits.
Anyway, he's probable not a writer.

The problem is that:

a) Some people try and remove "embarrassing" credits from their filmography (not that this looks embarrassing, as it seems very educational - I've certainly learnt a few things and won't forget some sights. However, people can be funny about what they find embarrassing). This can make people wary about such splits.

b) If we can't nail down who the other person is, there is a chance that someone will merge any split entry back in (if we can find out who they are and make it clear you are two different people then it'd be difficult to do, as it'd be obvious).

If we can resolve the second point then this will address the first one.

Yes I understand.
Well, the first step could be maybe to have my name with a correct spelling (not Franchot)?
At least, people who do a research could find me and what I have done.

And maybe one day we'll find who the mysterious guy worked on A Girl's Guide to 21st Century Sex is...
Maybe it is possible to contact the production team to have this informations?

We could not have 2 Sylvain Blanchot ?
One as "production team" and another as "writer"?

Yes. There could be two. To make each unique, Roman numerals would appear after the names. Don't know what the odds are of it....my name isn't too common, yet there are six or seven by same spelling in the database (none me nor related to me). So it happens.

I've requested those changes, so it should just be a matter of waiting.

We'll sort the split out then.

OK, it took a little while, but it was a tricky request and it all seems to have gone right (although why the constant has changed is unclear):

http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1917102/

I've also submitted a few links just now, as you gave them above. They'll presumably go through in the next few weeks, as they are uncontroversial.

Anyway, not to split off the other ones. A direct name split request won't work (as you have other credits in the "Other Crew" category) so you'll need to edit the credits of each episode and change the credit to:

Sylvain Blanchot (II)

If accepted this will move them over to the new entry and the name of yours will change to: Sylvain Blanchot (I).

I am unsure what explanation to give other than:

I am the original Sylvain Blanchot and these aren't my credits, they belong to another Sylvain Blanchot. See discussion here: https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topi...

Then paste the submission IDs in here and staff can cast an eye over them to make sure they are formatted OK.

Is that clear?
