Updating Biographical Information Policy?

Have the updating biographical information rules changed? For example, If I were to edit a person's birthdate/birthplace, I would be required select delete to delete the current information and add new information by selecting correct. Now it seems like a user can update birthdates by simply correcting them.

I don't recall that it has been necessary to delete a birthdate in order to correct it. Was this long ago?

@Peter_pbn I've noticed this probably a month ago. Once you would select Delete, it would ask for an explanation and below it would be the Correct box. It never would let you just Correct anything.

Hi @rev678 -

I don't recall a time when a deletion and addition was standard practice for correcting birthdate listings on the site, we currently allow corrections to existing data within the contribution form:

I hope this helps!

@Michelle Well this is definitely something new. In the past, once you would select Delete, it would ask for an explanation and below it would be the Correct box. It never would let you just Correct anything.
