Unknown Contributor Added False Info On my IMDB Page

Hello!

An unknown contributor added false 'Spouse' information onto my Standard IMDB page, and I have asked multiple times to have the false info deleted. I was never married to the name that was entered in the 'Spouse Field'. And further more, I would have never entered that kind of personal information in the first place! Under the IMDB Guideline, for the Marriage Status, it reads:

This field records legally recognized marriages and partnerships only

My question is ... if ANYONE can contribute to MY page ... would they not have to show PROOF of the marriage (i.e. marriage license/certificate) in order to upload any kind of information? Why is it so easy for a stranger to just to add such personal information (false information, at that!) onto my own IMDB page, AND IT'S SO DIFFICULT TO HAVE FALSE INFORMATION REMOVED??

In this case what you have to submit is a correction for the data to be updated. Removing the details will not be approved, as mentioned in our Bio Guidelines:

If a person is separated or filing for divorce, they are still married so it should be listed:

Joe Bloggs (2 April 2010 - present) (separated)

Joe Bloggs (2 April 2010 - present) (filed for divorce)

@Fran I was never married to the person that was entered into my information. and I highly doubt that whoever uploaded that information had any type of proof when uploading this information. Which leads me to believe that the IMDb team did not do a thorough check when the information was uploaded. so since I did not upload this personal information and since I was never married to the person named on my page that information should be removed because it is false information and I can prove it. I would like to see the proof that the IMDb team used in order to tell me that they cannot delete this false data.

Well, as a professional in the entertainment industry and paying subscriber to IMDBPro, I can tell you that your aim has missed its mark! The information that a total stranger added to MY IMDB page, is not correct nor is it factual, which means that IMDB DID NOT FACT CHECK! And THAT info must be deleted!
