Unique trivia that had been accepted for years and had multiple likes was recently deleted?

Hello

Someone was successfully allowed to request for my accepted trivia submission to be deleted after many years of it having been posted. This submission was unique (it shared no similar information with any other submitted trivia), and it broke no rules. The last I saw of it, it had around ~22 likes to 2 dislikes, which is on par with the rest of the other submitted trivia likes/dislikes for this movie.

And while I know that this trivia is substantially long, it has been a part of this movie's trivia section for many years and had been maintained with many updates over time to keep it up to date and on par with imdb's policy. Is there any way to have it reinstated?

Thanks so much

Yep. This has been a HUGE problem of IMDb for decades. Back in the day, I complained about this, much as you have. I even suggested they LOCK trivia, like w'i'ki does, once it has been verified. Or once it reaches 100 thumbs up, which proves that people agree. I was told everyone has the right to edit. I saw my previously approved trivia with +300 thumbs up disappear in one fell swoop, by a troll's doing, without mod intervention. So I threw in the towel, especially now that you can no longer save pages at the permanent youknowwhere due to having to "press this button to read the rest". Such hidden words can't be saved.

Obsessed fans are notorious for removing GOOFS, as if that destroys some kind of perfection fantasy they have, unaware of how fun finding goofs is for a true fan. But nope: removed.

I pointed that out here before and my post was ghosted and removed. Go figure. Perhaps you can make a LUCRATIVE blog transferring your trivia there? Now, THAT would be something! :-) Good luck to you.

Doesn't your item share information with an item in the alternate versions page?

Hi @ikfame -

I reviewed the trivia item and can confirm that while the item was quite long for "trivia", the primary reason for removal was that it contained quite a bit of speculative information.

I hope this helps clarify the reasons for removal.
