Uncredited narrators in documentaries?

I know that, for the most part, uncredited voice roles are not eligible to be listed, which I think is fair enough. But there are some exceptions made (e.g. if the person is particularly high profile), and it seems to be that a narrator in a documentary is a significant enough person that might be worthwhile to be listed even if uncredited. For that reason, I submitted one as part of a new episode submission 250528-110148-370000 but it was declined. Is there an official view on this?

Hello tom_wake Based on our criteria for Voice/Narrator credits, we are unable to approve the credit. In this case, based on the on screen credits she did not receive a Narrator credit, it is a must to have an on screen credit to list a Narrator credit. This person is already got the valid writer/director credits that can be added. https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/filmography-credits/cast-acting-credits-guidelines/GH3JZC74FVYKKFMD?ref_=helpsrall#

I would like to add this is an issue it would be nice to see offered some kind of solution, in the way of still being able to list them in 'softly'. Being able to ‘pencil them in’ or enter a ‘subject to confirmation’ or ‘speculative’ attribute as an option in instances like this (that will still link to and from their name page, after approval), like you say, especially for high‑profile names of interest, would be most ideal when you know it is them. (Of course wouldn't want to see such a mechanism subject to abuse, but perhaps exceptions could be considered for this issue on a case-by-case basis.) A workable solution would be ideal. (Unless there is one now I'm unaware of as of this date.)
