Unable to verify....

It's just the way the modern IMDb is heading.  Seems to be in self-destructive mode, along with so many other things these days.

It's the standard response because the "editors" are too lazy to check anything. Even when I post a screen cap to document a change, they deny it because "unable to verify." Don't these "editors" get paid?

I don't see the point of the page then. I mean all I want is to make it "better" since I try to delete a duplicated entry for the same title about myself. Sure I am not Joaquin Phoenix, but come on.

Attila: You would be best off trying to move Mate Gyorgy and Júlia Raczky to the Miscellaneous Crew section along with yourself. Production assistant-type jobs belong there, as stated at https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/filmography-credits/assistant-directors/G3Z8ENTBLJ5FJ44R#:

Assistant director is generally a multiple credit for modern films, although on older films, it is typical to find only a single, undifferentiated credit for assistant director. Note that it is currently our policy also to place credits for direction on secondary units in the assistant director section; this includes assistant directors on those units. Please note that supervising directors should be submitted to the director section. Some lesser related credits should still be submitted to the miscellaneous crew section, such as runner, production intern, production assistant, and assistant to director.

Because Sándor Csali is credited as "daily assistant director" or "assistant director", he should remain in the Second Unit Director or Assistant Director section.

Well there must be a misunderstanding then. Sandor Csali was a daily set pa, he set himself as a daily assistant director because my guess thats what he found describes the closest of his position. There are many type of Production Assistants. Most of them are working on set with the actors (Cast PA) with directing and “controlling” the extras (Set PA), helping on base to the Base 2nd AD (Base PA), helping for the Crowd AD (Crowd PA) but they all belong under AD’s department (Assistant directors). There are Office PA’s but they belong under Productions.


So basically every pa except the office pa’s should belong under Assistant Directors, since that is what they do. Assisting the directors, the 1st AD the 2nd AD and the 3rd AD.

If the occupation is ”production assistant” (or very close to that) it’ll belong to the Misc Crew. Basically, IMDb only cares about what is listed in the actual credits and how people are credited. What people actually did on the production is, basically, irrelevant from IMDb point of view. If some person was more like ”assistant director” than ”production assistant”, he/she should’ve credited differently. IMDb can’t correct the (possible) mistakes by the production company. Meaning, if they give a slightly misleading credit to some people.

Long story short: It’s not what people actually did on the production. It’s how they’re actually credited in the actual end credits.

Whether it is the production company, some producer, trainee at the office or just one random person, someone has to decide what credits are included in the end credits and how each person is credited. This also means occupations.

When the credits are added to the film/series/program in the editing suite, there must be some list of names. Whatever the case is, this is the decision that has a big impact on what department the credits go in the IMDb title page later on.

Sometimes even the wording can be very important. ”Assistant director”, ”2nd unit director” or ”director: New York sequences” goes to Assistant Director department. But ”director’s assistant” or ”assistant to the director” go to the MIsc Department.
