Unable to remove dubbing actors from credits

Hello,

I have been watching the show Go! Vive a tu manera with my daughter and got confused when looking at the credits on IMDb: the dubbers are listed at the top of the cast, even though they don't have end of show credits (proof: https://www.dropbox.com/s/29rf0cya2pfra4e/Go_vive_a_tu_manera-Ep1.3credits.png?dl=0), and that pushes the original cast way down. Not fair! I have submitted multiple requests to remove the dubbers from the credits, but 3 out of 4 requests got declined with a cryptic "Reason Does not meet contribution guidelines." I got it through for the first episode only. Is there any way I can improve my submission?

Thanks, any help appreciated!

Some of the credits have no order numbers assigned, this is likely the problem. Netflix do list dubbing actors at the end quite often so people are crediting themselves off that, I'm never sure if these Netflix international credit sessions are to be listed so I always ignore them in favor of the cast that appears in the official credits.

So what you should be doing is ordering the cast credits to match the onscreen numbering, just ignore the dub ones and leave them without numbers, this will at least get you nearer to your goal because even if you delete all the international credits it will still not give you the right billing order.

@VonPunk

There is a thread somewhere discussing this and IMDb still doesn't consider these dubbing credits, though appearing in the credits, as "cast credits". If I remember correctly, it's a discussion I had about the series Go, Dog, Go.

I used to think back in day they should have cast tabs on some titles where official dub credits can be displayed for different countries but always thought they would never create such a thing. I think it should be fair to list them if they are part of the official credits if like Page 1 is the Japanese cast and Page 2 is the English cast but it seems they don't want them both.

Only problem I'd have with the added on Netflix ones, aside from the large volume of them, is that lots of them are unreadable because they are in their native language but fortunately nothing to concern ourselves with since I doubt they'll ever be allowed.

This has been discussed before at some thread, but ”dub credits” on Netflix etc are not part of the official credits. They shouldn’t be added. It’s the same with DVD/Blu-ray releases where (foreign) ”dub credits” often appear after the official ones.

Hi RogerAshland -

The information within this thread is correct, we currently do not allow the listing of dubbing credits within the filmography section on the site.  If you requested a removal with on-screen evidence these deletions should have been approved, can you post the related 18-digit submission reference number associated with these updates so I can investigate further?

@Michelle : Sure!

  • #211120-113544-947000 (I'm not sure the proof was enough for that one, though)
  • #211126-122840-752000 (this one should really have gone through, IMO)

I haven't tried removing dubbing credits for the other episodes after the last one didn't work out. I'd be happy to try again with your follow-up if they don't go through on first pass.

I have to wonder, what is on screen evidence for deletion. Usually, the problem is that they aren't on screen at all!

The deletions in the following two contributions have also been declined:

#211208-111801-690000

#211208-112052-866000

Hi @RogerAshland -

Apologies for the delayed reply.  These ineligible/incorrect episode credits have now been removed.

Cheers!

Hi @adrian -

Likewise for credit additions, if we can review the on-screen credits we can best identify what names are not displayed on-screen, we will then consider either a removal of the credit or a correction to include the 'uncredited' attribute.

That really isn't definitive evidence though as some could claim that the screenshots are intentionally omitting their credits.
