I tried updating a primary poster on my film's page and received this comment, "The existing primary has been provided by a studio partner and is not editable."  Does this suggest that a studio partner set up this page and therefore only they can make these types of adjustments?  How do I see which studio partner has control of this?  thanks.

Hi markbochsler-

In order for our staff to take a look, can you post the link of your film's page and also the poster that you were trying to set as primary?

Once we have information, we can investigate further.

Cheers!

Here is the link to the poster that I'd like to set as primary.  https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9135286/mediaviewer/rm3318766081?ref_=ttmi_mi_typ_pos_3

My film has also recently been edited and re-released in 2023.  But in IMDb it's still listed as 2018.  Can IMDb update the release date?  thanks.

Hi @markbochsler -

I can confirm that the Poster image you requested has now been set to the primary poster image for the title page, the change should be live on the site shortly.

Concerning the title year, I can see that there are several festival screenings listed under the Release Dates section for 2018.  As we consider festival screenings to be a valid release, we will need to retain the "2018" title year.

I hope this helps!

Hi Michelle, thanks for your reply and for adjusting the primary poster image.  In order to reflect the re-edits and re-release of the film in 2023, is my only option now to re-list it as a new film? I understand, of course, that this would eliminate the festival awards and history, comments, etc.  would I be able to keep the same name?

Hi @markbochsler -

My apologies for the delayed response.  It's rare that we allow a separate new title listing for a re-released title, typically a title will only have one title page on the site and and a Release Date can be listed for the re-released date.  For example, see: The Wizard of Oz

There are rare exceptions to this rule, if there are substantial differences between the originally released film and the new version (ie. new or replaced cast/crew, re-shot footage, different narrative arc, runtime, etc.) we may consider a separate title page listing, however, as mentioned this is very rare.

I hope this helps!
