Unable to change personal information on my IMDb account.

@Jaime I understand that but I'm the one that gave you that information to begin with, so shouldn't I be able to change it?

I don't even want it changed. I would just like that sentence removed. I am no longer married to this woman. I am not asking to change anything factual, just for it to be omitted.

I'm the one that put that sentence in there and I would like to be the one that takes it out or at least have somebody in your staff take it out for me.

So to be clear, the current information about my marital status is not factual and it is inaccurate.

I know this information is changeable. It has to be. If it said I was half unicorn in my profile and you knew this wasn't true, wouldn't you change it?

I have submitted this twice

I did not provide any documentation. It did not ask me for any documentation nor did staff ask me for documentation after the first time.

I also did not provide any documentation when I initially stated I was married.

Nor did I need to provide a birth certificate for when I put in my age and birthday.

Is documentation required only on an arbitrary basis or is it stated somewhere when we need it?

In any event, I do not wish to change the information. I just wish it to be gone. My marital status was important to me at one time but it is no longer important to me now.

To be clear, I want my marital status to be omitted, not changed.

I'm not criticizing you, just the policies that restrict me from updating my personal information.

I worked in a bureaucracy for almost 30 years and when the paperwork became a daily Gordian knot I had to leave.

My frustration hear stems from an inability to enact a small change on an account I created and it really takes me back to that past life.

Not to mention that my ex's name, who has caused me so much grief, is attached to something I love so much.

Anyway, I would like to remain professional here and I apologize if it seemed focused on you.

@SoCalGrace yes. I cannot change settings in my own account on my account. I submit changes and I'm told by staff that it can't be verified.

Okay, so you're on the link I posted, https://www.imdb.com/activity/editprofile , you change your info, click "Change Description," and then it fails to update? When I follow those steps, IMDb staff is not involved in any way, so I'm confused.

I wondered from the get-go!

He keeps referring to his profile, and since editing my profile doesn't do what his does, I explicitly gave the link for his IMDb user profile, and asked if that's where he is when it fails. He said yes. *SMH*

Just out of curiosity, not that it will ever apply to me, so once certain info, like marriage, is entered on an actor's page, it can't be removed? I guess that makes sense, since it DID happen, although I can see why it could bother someone who wants no public reminder of that marriage...
