Unable to add episodes due to '|' pipe character?

Hello! I am unable to add the latest episodes of a show because it rejects the use of '|' characters. When I remove them it can no longer recognise the episode and asks if I want to link it to the actual episode containing a '|'. When I link it, I get the same error that it's an unsupported character. What are my options?
