UK Digital TV channels (as distributors). Lack of consistency in the databases

UK Digital TV channels (as distributors).  Lack of consistency in the databases.  For example, the UK Freeview channel "Yesterday" (also on other platforms) which is owned by UKTV company (which has other channels on air) is described in TV series listings pages (distributor/company) as Yesterday UKTV, Yesterday, UKTV Yesterday.

This needs a review and cleanup so at least a standardised set of channels is prompted when entering the distributor attribute.

A good starting list for current channels would be http://www.terrestrialtv.co.uk/dtt.cgi (with some checks to Wikipedia).

Verifying historical channels could be tricker.  Some have changed name but not ownership (e.g. Flextech UK TV History became Yesterday (part of the UK TV network) , with the company branding changing from Flextech to UKTV)

(older thread bump)

Related question. I recently added one documentary to the database from the late 1970s which was produced by "Associated Television (ATV)". However, at the end credits of the documentary the copyright was listed as "ATV Network Limited" (as seen in the pic below).

From Wikipedia ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Associated_Television ):
"...but its Midlands contract was renewed and extended for the full seven days. At this point the company was renamed ATV Network Limited."

So I guess the company name at some point was renamed from "ATV Network" to "ATV Network Limited". My question:

I originally submitted the company name as "ATV Network Limited" (since that's what it says at the end credits), but when the submission went live it was listed as "ATV Network". How "closely" we (IMDB contributors) have to add the company/distributor name? I believe there were several productions under the name "ATV Network", but none with the name "ATV Network Limited".

Thanks.
