Solved

Two videos show this: This video file cannot be played. (Error Code: 224003)

https://www.imdb.com/video/vi3794123289?playlistId=tt7323676&ref_=tt_ov_vi

https://www.imdb.com/video/vi3829051417?playlistId=tt4720642&ref_=tt_ov_vi

These 2 videos get this (This video file cannot be played. (Error Code: 224003) ) error message on all browsers and devices.

Can you get them to play?

I think there's a general problem with videos lately, I see that error on most videos recently.

@mbmb

It's not any videos except those.

@chad_bolling I saw it on a lot more videos recently. I don't watch videos on imdb much but lately whenever I tried to watch something, there was error.

@mbmb It's probably your ad blocker if happens to most videos.

@chad_bolling No it should be from imdb side, I remember seeing other messages complaining about videos not playing recently.

And now I checked Firefox's error messages while trying to play it and there is this: The certificate for imdb-video-wab.media-imdb.com expired on 12/21/2021.

And I started to have problems with videos around that time. It looks like they forgot to renew their certificates.

@mbmb Just tried a couple obscure videos on imdb; they don't work! all the big budget movies have videos that work. must be a money thing.

@chad_bolling Yeah I just tried a popular movie, Zack Snyder's Justice League and it worked, because it loaded the video from this domain: imdb-video.media-imdb.com

which has a non-expired certificate (although it expires on 27 May 2022 if they forget to renew that too)

So apparently it's an issue of them forgetting to renew the certificate for one of the servers. It will likely be fixed shortly after they see this thread.
