Trying to revise cast listing
I've been trying to revise a cast listing to add a brief description to a handful of entries, but have been rejected twice:
As I noted in the second submission, very few of the characters - all of whom are based on real people - are addressed by name in the film, and I believe the brief notations for a few of them would help to distinguish them for viewers, particularly because few of the actors are readily familiar (none of the first 3 credited cast are in the top 160,000 in STARmeter rankings, and none of the first 7 are in the top 10,000). I realize this could easily be regarded as a sensitive title, and therefore overly elaborate or biased descriptions should be avoided, but I think some minimal additions would be appropriate.

Hi @scgary66 -
IMDb's principle for cast credits is to always follow what's listed in the onscreen credits. As the credits in the referenced submissions currently match the onscreen end credits for this title, they are deemed correct and therefore the attempts to modify them have been declined.
Please see our cast/acting credit guidelines for more information.
Cheers!

Hi @scgary66 -
IMDb has never permitted extra information from within the film to identify credited characters other than the way in which they appear in the onscreen credits. IMDb will only permit necessary character descriptions when a character is not mentioned in the onscreen credits (in a TV episode for example) or if the role is uncredited (a background player, e.g. Officer #1). If a character does not appear in the onscreen credits but is mentioned by name in the title, the character name or a description would be permissible but they should be listed with the uncredited attribute.
As per both @adrian and @Peter_pbn and the guidelines mentioned, IMDb cast listings should always reflect the onscreen credits and therefore the character descriptions in the above referenced submissions are not permitted.
