Trying to list my two film festival wins in IMDB, but I am being rejected

HI IMDB,

Forgive my ignorance, but I am new to IMDB and I have no idea what I am doing wrong.  I just won two film festival awards and the film festival is encouraging us to list them in IMDB. So I clicked on the link they sent us in order to do this and I started to fill out the online forms to post the wins, the categories, etc..  Then I ran into problems.  The title of my video "Through The Ages", was rejected, because there was another "Through The Ages" in the database from the year 1914.  Then my name, and my creative team and cast names were rejected, because they aren't in the database.  Also, one of the categories that I won doesn't exist in the database and I tried to create a new one, and I didn't succeed at that either. So needless to say, I'm about to give up.  So I am hoping someone can help me. I thought I would be able to understand it, but after several rejections and trying to fill in things correctly, I have just been getting more and more frustrated.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

Best,

Merete Muenter

If your film is not in the database, you would have to start by adding it before you can add awards.

Hi Muenter-

In order to add the wins for the film you submitted to the film festival and as Peter mentioned above, you will need to have the information of the title and of the cast or crew added to IMDb first. Once they have their pages listed on the site, you will be able to add the win to the award and link the correct tconst (which is the title number found on the URL of your film) and the nconsts (the individual page numbers found on the URLs for each of the people who worked in it as well).

In regards to the category you tried to add, can you specify which one it is?

For more detailed information, I encourage you to review the following Awards Help Guide. You can also visit this other guide on Linking the names and titles.

Let us know if you have further issues/questions!

Thanks!

@Maya Thank you Maya!
I had two wins from a film festival. One was for Experimental which is a category that is listed on IMDB. The other category I won in with this festival was Entertainment/Drama/Dance/Variety.

I know that’s a lot! I tried to add that and couldn’t figure it out.

As you can tell this is my first time on IMDB so I really appreciate yours and Peter’s efforts to help me! Thank you for taking the time to break things down for me. So often when I write in to organizations to get help, I don’t get a response. So I am very impressed and grateful to get your answers!

 Thank you so much!

Hi @Muenter -

I can confirm that your new title, "Through the Ages", has now been approved and is listed on the site.

To add your awards you will need to submit them from the event page, you can find all listed events here.

Let us know if you encounter any further issues!
