@Maya​ One last request. Our films had a cast and crew screening in 2024 which was mistakenly called a premier on a couple of online posts. Since that screening we have had serveral reshoots to fix story problems as well as adding new characters to the story. The film is now back in post production but is not available to the public yet. We tried to change the status of the film from release in 2024 back to post production several times but were always denied. Is there a way we can change it back to post production with a release date in 2026?

@csgrant- Do you have the submission reference number for this as well?

Also the budget is still live. Do you know when that will change?

@csgrant- Taking a look at this, we list release dates based on the first screening of the film which includes festival screenings, we consider festivals to be an official release. If the title was pre-screen at the festival in 2025 as per the submission above, we will need to retain this release date information associated as it indicates the title's original release per our policies.

You will still be welcome to add the other release dates (ie. 2026) with the respective attribute. 

As per the budget, the changes are still in-progress. 

Thank you for the clarification. Does this mean you are able to change the date from 2024 to the Catalina festival premier in 2025? If so we are happy with that.

@Maya​ Hi, Sorry but the release date has been approved and is live on the page but it still says (2024) next to the title. Is there a way to update that? Also the budget is still denied and it's been over 24 hours now.

csgrant: This is not an answer to your question, but I want to let you know that you can post submission reference numbers (such as 260203-050241-070000, which is one of my submissions) on this message board and you don't have to worry about deleting them later. Nobody can access submissions by number except for yourself and the IMDb staff.

If you're referring to the year displayed on the title's IMDb page, this is by design. The release year is derived from the earliest release date listed for the title, which was verified to be the earlier date from 2024. But the release date of 2024 was incorrect and the new release date of 2025 was accepted and updated. Then all of a sudden it changed back to the wrong date.

@Ozzy​  , but there was no official premiere in 2024. There was a cast and crew premiere. It was not available to the public until the Catalina screening in 2025.

@Ozzy​ Sorry, I was not trying to 'out' your source, but as the Director/Producer, I can tell you that it was not available to the public (despite some online posts calling it a public premiere) in July 2024. 

@Ozzy​ my name is Steve Hodgetts, one of the directors of HTMHC Films Limited, the SPV running this film. We held a cast & crew screening of the film in 2024, and it was not attended by the general public. The first official public screening (ie. premiere) of the film was at Catalina Film Festival in 2025. We kindly ask that the date of the film is therefore changed to 2025. If imdb's guidelines state that the first public premiere is the date listed, then 2025 would be correct. Not 2024. This is of vital importance to us as it may affect the film's outcome and release. I am happy to have this validated by the director of Catalina Film Festival, who typically request that any premiere held on the Saturday evening slot is reserved only for films that have not been previously publicly screened. Please advise.

The poster, with the Anna Barbara Films logo, announces it as the "Official Premiere", so I understand why IMDb has its doubts.

By the way, if it truly was a private cast & crew screening, I must say that it's a bit rude to charge people...

Thanks for your message. The screening was indeed a cast and crew screening. The use of the word 'premiere' was simply semantic and referred to the film’s first screening (cast & crew). It was not intended to denote an official premiere.But still, the screening was solely for cast & crew. You make one reference above to a post from one of the EP's who states that it was cast & crew too. I must say that I agree with your second point, and if anyone was charged, we would be more than happy to refund them immediately.

Based on publicly available documentation, it has been determined that this title released/sold tickets to members of the general public on the date currently listed as the earliest release date, with this date therefore considered to be the first official release date for the film by IMDb. For that reason, this information should not be removed or modified, in accordance with our release date policies and guidelines.
