Trouble posting an award
Good morning, campers! After having successfully posted some recent awards for the feature doc "Missing in Brooks County," there's one that just won't seem to process. I've submitted it three times (and waited the required two weeks before resubmitting); each time trying a slightly different format in case it was some little detail that I entered improperly. But no luck. Here's the latest submission code: 210510-211539-486000.
The 2020 Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival awarded "MIBC" as "Best Southern Documentary." HSDFF does not post winners on their website (https://hsdff2020.eventive.org/welcome), which would provide obvious proof of the award. However, IMDb has a winners page for them (https://www.imdb.com/event/ev0001747/2020/1/?ref_=ev_eh), on which "Best Southern Documentary" is not shown as an award category. Therefore, when filling out the submission form, I carefully checked the box warning box indicating that this is a "New award for event."
With nothing on the HSDFF website to link to for verification, I had to dig for verification to provide to IMDb in support of the award. HSDFF has a Facebook page where I found a Zoom presentation by the HSDFF 2020 Director of Programming in which she announces the various 2020 award winners: https://www.facebook.com/HSDFI/videos/2748752368726777. At the 04:12 mark, she names "Missing in Brooks County" as "Best Southern Documentary." This link was included on my IMDb submission form in the Comments section.
I also found and included in my IMDb submission a link to an article in the local newspaper, the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette (Hot Springs is in NW Arkansas) naming the 2020 HSDFF award winners: https://www.nwaonline.com/news/2020/oct/23/hsdff-winners-announced/.
Additionally, I found and included a link to an unaffiliated website showing the winners (https://filmsgonewild.com/hot-springs-documentary-film-festival-2020-announces-award-winners-with-jacinta-and-the-viewing-booth-leading-the-way/), though I cannot vouch for their legitimacy as a source of verification.
It's frustrating that awards submissions (unlike most types of submissions that include a "Track Contribution" function leading to either "pending," "approved" or "rejected") just seem to disappear into a black hole with no indication as to what, if any, problems were encountered with the submission. I was shown a green page each time before hitting the "Submit these updates" button and received an email acknowledging the submission each time, but then...crickets.
If Michelle or another of your helpful employees can give me some guidance on this, I'll be grateful as always. Thanks!
