Neither National Geographic nor its parent company, Disney,
have advertised or promoted this episode
because of their blatant censoring campaign
against this episode's guest, Gina Carano.
In February 2021,
about three months before the episode's premiere,
Carano was fired from the Disney+ series The Mandalorian (2019-)
due to misunderstood social media posts.
At one point, this episode was completely scrapped
to adhere to Disney's methods of "cancelling"
those that the corporation disagrees with,
but due to popular demand, the episode still released.
Carano was not featured in this specific episode's advertising, either.

Hi CraigDuncan -

If you encounter a Trivia item that you beleive is invalid (not actaully trivia, personal opinion, defamatory, rumor, scandal or gossip, etc.), you should request a deletion through our online form including a detailed explanation for the removal, and our Editors will review your report.

Cheers!

Well, this is a tough one. If the essence of the information is not factual, then it should be deleted altogether. For that purpose, a report is supposed to be submitted against the item. If the information is just not what could reasonably be considered "interesting" and relevant to the title at hand, then the item should be voted upon in the negative direction. If the information simply puts a derisive spin on factual information, then the item should be reworded, but when nobody volunteers to do things like that, then reporting it is appropriate enough. As to what be factual concerning Gina Carano, it was reported in one news outlet or another that Lucasfilm posted a Tweet informing of her dismissal from the company on account of a Tweet published by her. The question of the promotion of materials featuring the actress through Disney's streaming platforms is perhaps hypothetical, conjectural or accusatory at this point. I don't know how something like that would or could be confirmed or debunked. Just to note, reports of scandals are not expressly prohibited from being posted as IMDb trivia items, but the information does have to be worded in a respectful way.

"Their blatant censoring campaign"

"Disney's methods of cancelling"

This is clearly a fan of Carano complaining about Disney. How we all feel about her is irellevant really - but if IMDB are going to host biased opinions ruminating on Twitter and driven by social political campaigns, then they are opening a can of worms for sure and inviting activism to the platform.

I would agree that the author is probably a fan of Gina Carano, but the insinuation is eerily similar to asserting that a criticism of the Disney company's choice to omit Song of the South from availability on the Disney streaming platforms implies that the critic is a fan of Song of the South, when it would not matter whether or not that person is fan or has even seen it before. The fact of the matter is that contemporary Disney has exhibited a pattern of behavior that at least vaguely aligns with what we known to day as "cancel culture", a phenomenon which isn't inherently wrong to exist, but can be problematic at times when it is taken too far.
