Toy Story 4 writing credits

The writing credits for Toy Story 4 are not placed in proper order. Apparently, someone tried to place the "screenplay" credits above the "story" credits, but it seems a few errors occurred.

Hi @BrianKT,

Thank you for flagging this issue again. It looks like the credits weren't properly fixed before, but we've applied the appropriate changes now, and added preventative measures to avoid the credits being changed to anything other than the correct order.

I hope this helps!

@Ozzy

Can you explain what you mean by "It looks like the credits weren't properly fixed before"?

The guide states: If names have no punctuation between them, assume they are joined by "&" (i.e. increment the third value). In other words: unless specifically separated on-screen by the word "and", do not use the rewrite group (i.e. leave second value as "1").

Why have you connected the writers with "and"?

For example, the credits list:

original story by

John Lasseter

Andrew Stanton

Josh Cooley

Valerie LaPointe

This would be ordered:

1,1,1

1,1,2

1,1,3

1,1,4

not

1,1,1

1,2,1

1,3,1

1,4,1

(0:24 and 1:01)

According to your policy, the current sequence numbers are wrong.

Do you have any evidence that these are not the original credits?

Hi @ind3,

Thank you for your reply.

To clarify why the credits are listed in their current order, the reasoning that "And" and not "&" is assumed when no punctuation is shown, is because Rashida Jones and Will McCormack are explicitly separated by an ampersand. Therefore it's safe to assume that the other names are to be treated differently. In other words, Rashida Jones and Will McCormack are to be assumed as writing partners, whilst the other names contributed to the original story individually, and therefore should be separated with "And" when no punctuation is shown on-screen.

I hope this helps!
