Top Reviewer Badge

I understand that a Top Reviewer badge exists, or has existed at some point - for example on A_Different_Drummer's profile. I also read somewhere that more than 1,000 reviews need to be posted.Does this badge still get awarded? If so, I have 3.9k reviews, and 5.6k ratings.

This is my profile: https://www.imdb.com/user/p.4dh5taeqxd5w4yjvibdf4stk44?ref_=tt_nv_profile

Thank you for any help.

Hi SG_TheOriginal-

Thank you! We are no longer awarding the Top 1,000 Reviewer Badge as it has been deprecated. All current badges we support are available on the Help Guide.

Cheers!

Thank you. I had been wondering.

@Maya The badge still seems to be listed on people's profiles (example: https://www.imdb.com/user/p.jruaqwiqyvyesgw4ziizl3mfam?ref_=tturv_t_usr_1). If you don't award it anymore, I assume you also don't keep checks on the number of reviews people have. If that's the case, the badge becomes useless and should therefore be deleted from people's profiles.

Hello Marco,

We preserve previously earned badges, therefore those who were granted the badge will have it.

More useful information can be found in the Help Articles

@Fran I already noticed these badges were preserved, that's the whole reason I responded here. I didn't ask a literal question in my post, so I'll do that now.

What is the reason IMDb keeps these badges if they don't update them?

All other badges are updated, so it's not consistent and (potentially) confusing. Also, it means that the badges don't tell us much about the current situation, just about the past. As more and more time will pass, these badges will become more and more useless and silly.

Apart from that, it doesn't seem very fair to people without this badge, like the OP, who (might) have more reviews than people with this badge. And, obviously, as time will pass, this will happen more often.

@Marco - Thank you for the feedback! We'll pass it along to the appropiate team for visibility.
