So, inespape-1 just rented or purchased 1,000,000 titles on discs
to get all the credits to add to IMDb
and did not have to take the time to watch the entire title

@ACT_1 Obviously I can't speak for Inespape-1. I can just say that these days, it's very easy to get your hands on the ends credits of (at least) a couple of thousand titles, not via discs (which would be rather costly) but via online streaming services. Apart from that, if you know your way around IMDb, it's very easy to find spots that are in dire need of a (relatively easy) fix. One example that comes to mind: There are quite some people in the database that have a year in the attribute of their crew credit, which isn't allowed. These can be easily deleted without having seen anything.

@Marco Inescape-1 isn't just correcting titles. Act's point is that he has added over 1,000,000 titles to IMDb in 20 years. That's not correcting, those are all new to IMDb titles. That seems inconceivable even if he watches nothing but the credits. That's 50,000 new titles per year or 136 new titles a day for two decades!

On the contrary, the description of the Lifetime Title badge says, "lifetime count of all new title submissions and corrections."

I would guess that it also includes episodes.

That's still a lot of new titles and title corrections! (Title corrections aren't that common, really.) I've been a top contributor for over 4 years and I have 250+ on the Lifetime Title (or barely what Inescape would do in 2 days)

Well, as I posited before, the member account of the number one Top Contributor may have more than one individual human being operating it, like how historically the most famous of mathematicians had teams of "computers", scriveners, couriers or other assistants. There are also ways to modify the submission interface so as to streamline the process of filling out the form fields, or accessing specific submission forms, even creating custom submission forms. As to the question of access to materials to be contributed, there are bound to be private librarians out there in the world, who may have archives a thousand times larger than the average media-collecting person, almost like owning one's own university-grade library.
