Title type Podcasts should not be combined with genre Talkshow

However, there is this: https://www.imdb.com/search/title/?title_type=podcast_series&genres=talk-show

Currently, there are 16,650 Podcasts with the genre Talkshow. The genre Talkshow (which is a tv genre) should NOT be attached to the title type Podcasts (which features a lot of conversation by default). Can a staffer block the genre Talkshow for titles with the title type Podcast? And can these current entries be deleted?

Or am I missing something here and is it very good to have Podcasts combined with Talkshows?

There are podcasts that do not have discussions or interviews or guests or panelists. Some are fiction, others news or narration from one person.

There is also an odd logic to the idea that if all podcasts are talk-shows then they must not be listed as talk-shows. Granted, this is similar to certain other, sometimes ill-advised IMDb logic.

@Peter_pbn Thanks for informing me, I thought all podcasts had discussions/interviews/people talking about a certain topic. Thanks for setting me straight.

Hi @Marco -

Technically, the "Talk Show" genre definition can apply to Podcast series if the content includes:

Discussion or interviews of or with a series of guests or panelists, generally appearing as themselves in a non-fictional setting

Not all podcasts will fit under this genre umbrella, as some podcasts feature just a single person discussing a topic, without any interviews, guests, or panelists.  So the genre does seem eligible to listed on these title types.
