There needs to be a "report this review" option for racist and offensive reviews.

I'm sorry but this website needs more regulation for offensive reviews. We do not want to stifle free speech but on the other hand there has grown to be a disgusting amount of racism, sexism, homophobia and whatever other forms of prejudicial statements all over this website over the last few years and something must be done. A very simple solution would be to just have a "flag this review for offensive content" option, then have the moderators take a look at any flagged content to decide whether or not it's appropriate to have on this site. No one should ever want to give such offensive viewpoints a platform, it's just sickening to read.

Blatant prejudices are fairly rare. IMDb does, in my opinion, a great job at moderating such reviews. However, like a vast majority of people, the staff may not be well-formed to recognize microaggressions. I'm not sure an "offensive content" option would change something to that. The best you can do right now is reporting a review as inappropriate, and giving details in the "Please explain your reason" section of the report form.

Hi jjjwusa -

If you are seeing User Reviews on IMDb that are in violation of our guidelines (such as offensive/racist/hate speech/etc.), you should report the User Review by selecting the Reason "Inappropriate".

If you have further context that you would like to include you are welcome to provide additional comments within the "Please explain your reason" box:

Cheers!
