The worst keyword on IMDb?

My top nominee: "stand-alone-movie-without-sequel"

Of the millions of titles on IMDb, this could probably be applied to millions.

Please delete this meaningless, useless, unnecessary keyword from the database.

I have to agree.

Outside, Hollywood blockbusters and other very successful commercial films, sequels are nearly inexistent.

Great example.

I'm not a fan of keywords in general, particularly when it's stuff like "twist-ending"

For years, I have been waiting for the sequel to D. W. Griffith’s “Intolerance.”  Maybe it’s Coppola’s “Megalopolis."

@MovieCat spoiler keyword "tragedy" is now in (sub)genre section.

I saw some unsettling keywords on a title right now, quite apart from multiple spoiler ones. It's an old BBC horror anthology show, about a group of kids throwing a party.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0626906/reference/

I've looked, and it seems they might have been a lot older than they appeared in real life, possibly 16. But they all look about 12-14 and appear to be playing it, too.

With that in mind, what does it say about the person who submitted these as keywords? (and I didn't notice a mini skirt, either):

* Girl wears a miniskirt

* girl-with-long-hair

* woman-spanks-a-boy

That's.... pretty disturbing IMO.

My top nominee: "stand-alone-movie-without-sequel"

I noticed that Col Needham referred to this keyword last year while answering a user question.

@bradley_kent This keeps coming up in notifications as a reply to me, but I don't think it is, is it? You're asking staff, right?

Other nominees:  “man," “woman," “world" (sometimes, "planet earth" seems accurate, especially in sci-fi titles and some documentaries)

“wrong," “young," and other standalone adjectives without a noun.  Used as a modifier, adjectives can be part of a valuable keyword, i.e. young-man, young-couple

Without an noun to modify, standalone adjectives can be interpreted as referring to the title itself, i.e. young-film, wrong-tv-show, etc.
