The return of the Character pages

I'd like to see the Character pages return, this time SIMPLER.

Each Character page can be for one title only. No more trying to link a character through multiple titles. The Character page could describe the character's arc through just the single title.

For example:

Captain Kirk gets one Character page for the STAR TREK TV series. The bio describes Captain Kirk's arc through the series, but not for the later movies. Just that one title.

Instead, Captain Kirk gets a new Character page for each movie. Kirk's Character page on THE WRATH OF KHAN describes his journey through just that one movie. His page for THE SEARCH FOR SPOCK describes his journey through just THAT one movie. And so on.

The linking is what caused all the headaches and confusion. You can't write a bio for Batman that includes  every incarnation, from the 1940s serials to the 1966 TV series to the cartoons, to the Burton/Schumacher films to the Nolan movies. The Character pages can return if they're simpler and easier.

There already _are_ character pages for each title:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084726/characters/nm0000638

Just click on the character name when a link is available.

Availability is contingent on someone (users, mostly) having connected quotes and photos to the character.

So what is your post asking for?

I'll be damned. I'm always in reference mode, which doesn't show links for the characters.

Well, that's good. The only thing missing is the character bio.

Would you be willing to propose that biography pages (complete with galleries and filmographies, and on a per character basis like for actors who play more than one character in same work or when same character is played by more than one actors across work or in the same work) be reinstated, or ought I do this?

As I understand it, alas, most of the folks who used IMDb may possibly have never even noticed that the old character database feature and accompanying data was even taken offline. I still see folks complaining about the sunsetting of the old BBS-based forum native to the IMDb website but basically nobody (except for me) complains about the various other features (including markup for plot synopses and title FAQ) that were removed and never returned in the updated software platform.

Yes, please do propose it!
