The Legend of Hercules (Writers)

Hi.

I noticed that in ”The Legend of Hercules” (2014), only these two writers are actually credited:

Sean Hood (written by) and

Daniel Giat (written by)

It’s true that (e.g.) the 2013 press release (note: ..but not the actual credits) list ”Sean Hood, Renny Harlin and Giulio Steve” as writers. This is probably one of the reasons why Harlin and Steve are also listed to IMDb. And maybe there are WGA rules and whatnot.

In the audio commentary Harlin mentions that Sean Hood was the original (main) writer, but after that others did some rewriting (he doesn’t mention any additional names, but probably also Harlin and Steve).

A long story short: I believe Harlin and Steve deserve a IMDb credit, BUT with ”uncredited” attribute (again: they’re not credited). I tried to add the attribute (with a screenshot of the credits), but it was declined:

#220921-062326-662000

Perhaps IMDb staff could take a look, thanks.

( The first is the screenshot of the actual credits. The second is from the trailer. )

Hi eboy-

Thank you for posting the submission reference number and for the rest of the information for these writers! We have reviewed it and the reason why it was declined was because the 'uncredited' attribute for writers will not be accepted for titles with WGA-determined credits.

For more detailed information, you can take a look at our following Help Guide

Cheers!

@Maya I don't see WGA marker on this page. If it had it, it wouldn't even be possible to edit and submit any correction and have a submission number here.

You say: because the 'uncredited' attribute for writers will not be accepted for titles with WGA-determined credits

That's not what the page you linked says, the page says this: IMDb will not accept uncredited writers for titles with WGA-determined credits

Page says IMDb will not accept uncredited writers, what you say is: "we will accept uncredited writers but we will not add uncredited attribute to it"

which is the exact opposite of what the page you linked says.

If it's WGA-determined and you want to follow that page, then these two credits should be deleted, they should not be kept as credited on site when they are not credited. What the page says is they should be deleted in that case.
