The Hot Zone issues...again.

As IMDb have officially ruled they should be listed as 2 separate mini-series

The episodes from the 2nd mini-series keep being re-added to the 1st mini-series as a '2nd Season' each time after they are merged away.

I can never get to a point where I can submit an end year to the first series.

I've submitted a new set of merges but after having issues having the odd ones accepted, can you make sure they all go through. Here are the numbers:

#1 - #220101-033134-705000

#2 - #220101-033707-820000

#3 - #220101-033743-167000

#4 - #220101-033807-245000

#5 - #220101-033835-837000

#6 - #220101-033907-624000

Also another issue I've tried but cannot fix, the 3rd episode is displaying an incorrect spelling of the title while the correct spelling is left as a AKA.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt14055562/

It needs to read as 'Neither Rain Nor Sleet...'

You can verify that here: https://www.nationalgeographic.com/tv/shows/the-hot-zone/episode-guide/season-02/episode-03-neither-rain-nor-sleet/vdka25456145

Hopefully we can end this ongoing saga soon. thanks.

Hi VonPunk & Adrian -

Apologies for the delayed response.  I revisited this series in a discussion with the appropriate team and despite previous instructions, we will now treat this as a single anthology series (similar to Manhunt, American Crime Story, American Horror Story, etc.).

If there was a clearer separation between the series, for example, "Dexter" and "Dexter: New Blood", where a different creative group was involved and a great deal of time has passed, we may be inclined to list them separately.  In this case, the distinction should be by different seasons of the same series.

I will now remove the duplicate series listing, the changes should be live on the site shortly.

Thanks again for your feedback!

They actually are the same series. I have no idea why IMDb would make that decision or when they made it because I remember requesting that they remove the end date on the first one when a second season was announced.

Your link title alone proves that National Geographic, who produced both series, believes that they are two seasons of the same series and not different mini-series.

@adrian That's the mixed signals I got from seeing two sets of episodes, on one hand, it's put up on streaming sites as a 2nd Season, on the other, it was officially promoted as a limited series, https://www.natgeotvpressroom.com/titles/show/61080eb94d4397b33a605e8c

It was quite a muddy water on this one so I asked IMDb, it took two tries to get a straight answer and when I did, it was that they should be listed as two separate mini-series. It's still worth further discussion.
I'm cool with whatever they decide going forward, long as there is only one set of episodes on the site, it doesn't matter which page they are on.

@VonPunk

And that straight answer directly contradicts the answer I got when the second season was first announced. :D

@adrian Haha, maybe this thread will be the decider when a response comes. :)

Looks like the episodes have been merged the other way by someone leaving this page empty bar a couple of 100 adrift images: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13443456/

IMDb needs to sort this out one way or the other.
