Submission Email Receipts for Reviews Sent for Your Consideration and Approval

My last five movie reviews did not generate a reciprocal submission email receipt sent to me from IMDB, which in my experience has been a routine occurrence in the process for many years.  You approved and published all of the submitted reviews.  Why no more submission email receipts?

Apart from the toggle in your email, how would I (from scratch) be able to access the Contribution History page?  What steps would I have to take to get to that site?

While I have access to you Fran, please give me a step by step guide as to how I can modify my email preferences in IMDB  Community (Sprinkl)..  Getting too much unwanted IMDB email!  if you send me a toggle to help me with this problem, please test it first.  Last time I tried to deal with this issue, your rep. sent me a toggle that only produced an error message!

Still not getting email receipts from you when sending in proposed movie reviews for your OK to post on the IMDB site.  Am I alone on this matter, or have you gotten similar complaints from others?

@malvernp Hi! We have 2 contribution history pages, here and here. There are different data available in both, in the second one you would find your reviews. A step by step to access the first one which is the main one you can go to our menu, under community go to contributor zone and then contribution history.

To manage your email preferences for sprinklr go to your profile and then to "Notifications & Preferences"

Regarding the issue of not receiving email receipts as @Fran mentioned in his answer below:

So far we could not determine what is causing the problem, this could be that the e-mail is being blocked their side either from a Spam Filter or the Focus inbox feature, this could be verified going through the forgot password process.

Sorry to report that our software team have been unable to reproduce this issue so there is nothing else we can do to help here, other than recommend using a different web browser.

Since there are only two reports, and yet this is a relatively popular combination of software, it must be a local issue somewhere between IMDb and your machines rather than a bug in the page format itself.

Thanks for taking the time to report and sorry we cannot offer any further help.

Thanks!

Sorry, but I don't understand your post.  All my Contribution History page seems to show is the text of previously approved reviews.  It doesn't appear to have any other info that would shed light on my concern, which is this:  In the recent past, when I sent you a proposed review for your consideration, I would almost immediately receive an email submission receipt containing the draft review and a toggle that would allow me to check on the status of that IMDB approval consideration.  Around five or six submitted reviews ago------all of a sudden and for no reason I can understand-----you discontinued your long standing practice of sending me these email submission receipts.  This happened once before a few years  ago, necessitating me to contact you then over the very same problem.  You eventually corrected it.  I have no idea why it is again appearing at this time.  Have you changed your procedures?

Hello malvernp,

In this case we need more information o find out what is the problem. According to our technical team this isn't normal or expected, however we need to check a couple of details. Do you have live reviews on the site? Can you link us to one live active review? Also, have you used a different email address?. In addition, please make sure the e-mails are not being redirected to the Spam folders.

@Fran   Not sure what you mean by a "live active review.". If you are referring to one that was submitted to you for approval but which has not yet been approved, the answer is "I do not."  My most recent review submitted to and approved by you was for "Frances" (1982)-----and you approved it for publication on Nov. 10, 2022.  It has the item number of 221110-201052-598304.   I have not over a 20 plus year span as an IMDB contributor ever used a different email address.  I just checked and confirmed that the emails here under discussion  have not been redirected to my Junk Mail folder.  As I previously stated, I have had no problem receiving these receipt emails consistently and routinely from you for many years.  The problem just suddenly appeared around a month ago.  But as I also previously stated, I experienced it briefly for the first time several years ago, and somehow you were able to correct it when brought to your attention.  I am experiencing a "dry spell" right now, and hope to get my act together to send you a new proposed submission sometime in the near future.  But I still wish you had sent me the receipt emails that are missing for my six or so most recent reviews, and hope that you have enough information to resolve this little problem.  Thanks so much for your help and support.

Hello malvernp,

We have checked our system and can't see any issues here. Are you using the same email linked to this Community account you are using on this post?

In addition, I notice they're using Hotmail, this has a concept of "focused" emails which acts a bit like a spam filter and can confuse customers:

Fran-----to repeat------yes, I have a Hotmail email address but it is in fact an Outlook account.  I have used this account for many years in dealing with you with no issues before.  As I have previously said, I routinely and uneventfully get email from you daily-----and was uneventfully getting every single appropriate submission receipt email from you for many years until about a month ago.  Then suddenly, they just stopped coming.  Why should I continue to get a flood of often irrelevant (and frankly unwanted) IMDB Community emails every single day yet conclude that the very few that would deal with submission receipts are mysteriously singled out by Outlook to just disappear?  It just makes no sense.  Of course, I will continue to periodically review my Deleted and Junk folders for the missing submission receipt emails, but why would this problem now appear when absolutely nothing has changed at my end?  I still believe that the issue relates to something at your end.  Please double check this for me.  I am grateful for your help and support..

Hello malvernp

So far we could not determine what is causing the problem, this could be that the e-mail is being blocked their side either from a Spam Filter or the Focus inbox feature, this could be verified going through the forgot password process.
