Submission deletion/replacements

In submitting several new titles I ran into the situation where I submitting a title/item only to realize afterwards that it was erroneous. I would then send a replacement submission with the correct information and delete the old pending submission. Your system said:

"ReasonDuplicate

Your contribution has been declined.

The item you have submitted is exactly the same as a submission that you or another user have already entered, which is still pending review by our staff."

Seems to me IMDB could save itself a lot of time and instead of just declining -- REPLACING. The system sees the fact it's a duplicate. Implementing that would mean cutting down on time and wasted effort on the part of the staff.

Two examples:

I submitted a new title- #230113-213835-228000

All accepted except one credit for some weird reason.

I resubmitted that one credit only I couldn't upload evidence as Safari glitches with the tool - #230114-200506-533000

Then seeing it was only safari and that Chrome would work, I resubmitted with evidence uploaded but it got rejected because the previous one is still pending. #230114-213747-662000

Time wasted it seems to me. I should be able to tell it to replace old pending submission.

Example 2:

When I thought what I'm suggesting was actually how deleting submissions worked, I resubmitted a title with some corrected info. #230114-213546-456000 

Then I deleted old one. This created a duplicate in IMDB as one of the corrections was in the title. #230114-041912-478000

Now time is being used up by a third submission to delete the duplicate entry. #230115-100716-440000

It would have saved the staff time if I could manually delete the duplicate submission myself.

Just an idea for whomever handles suggestions. And if you wanna give my two submissions some extra oomph, that'd be greatly appreciated.
