Streamlining the "Type" section for the New Title page
I've seen would-be contributors on various social media platforms complain that adding a new title to IMDb is confusing. Streamlining the Type section could make things easier. I've added thousands of titles, and sometimes my brain still glitches at this section. My suggestion: Under Type, we see two categories. Single Work Series If the user clicks on Single Work, there's a dropdown menu with the following choices: - Feature movie - Short movie - TV special - Unaired TV pilot - User-generated video (on a platform such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or X) - Made-for-home video (VHS, DVD, Blu-ray or other physical media) - Commercial - Music Video - Video Game - Audio Book Under Series we see the following choices: - TV series (broadcast or subscription-based platform) - TV mini-series (broadcast or subscription-based platform) - User-generated video series (on a platform such as YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or X) - Video channel (typically user-generated and often contain series which may be listed separately) - Podcast series (i.e., any series that is also, or exclusively, available in podcast feeds) - Movie serial (typically a series of movie shorts that appeared in theaters in the first half of the 20th century) This would help simplify a process that is complicated by its nature, as these categories of content are difficult to define and distinguish from one another.

By the way, feature movie and short movie are preferable to feature film and short film because film implies it appears on celluloid, while movie does not.

Under Series we see the following choices: -Movie serial (typically a series of movie shorts that appeared in theaters in the first half of the 20th century) FWIW, IMDb considers serials (movie serial is not a word AFAIK) to be one feature, not a series: https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/titles/title-formatting/G56U5ERK7YY47CQB?ref_=helpsrall#
