Strange processing of cast additions and corrections

Although Ed Begley Jr. and John Lithgow were submitted as cast additions at the same time, Begley was processed, but Lithgow was not. Why?

I can confirm that "John Lithgow" is now credited on both parts of the series:

I did not that he is listed below the main cast, if you know what order number he was credited on-screen, I encourage you to submit a correction to include that order number and his credit will be adjusted accordingly.

If you look at my submissions, you will see that they include Lithgow's order # as 3.

I am glad that this is being corrected, but the real point is "WHY" was this submission not honored?

We need to know the "WHY" so future similar mistakes can be avoided.

I guess the explanation is: "Sometimes, things just happen."
