"Story editor" department

Looking at John Swartzwelder's page, I notice a large number of his 77 writing credits on The Simpsons are as "story editor". Shouldn't this be in the Script Department, where a script editor would usually go?

Tom: While I don't know the exact details of this occupation, the guide for the Writers Department says:

Staff writersstory editorsstory coordinatorsstory supervisorsstory consultants, and dramaturge / dramaturg also belong in the writers section.

https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/filmography-credits/writers/GPLAT3NTCGA67A6R#

And the guide for the Script & Continuity Department says:

The script department only includes production jobs - script related jobs for members of the screenwriting staff (like story editors) still belong to the writers list

(emphasis added)

So John Swartzwelder's credits as a story editor (not a script editor) would indeed be listed in the Writers Department.
