Stock Footage

Hey there! If stock footage is being used in a documentary film, under which category do you put it on IMDb? Thank you.

Hello taxi2venus

It can be submitted to the Camera and Electrical dept, since there is not a specific category for it.

You can find help and instructions in the Help Articles too.

@Fran Dear Fran, hope this finds you well.

Thank you so much for letting me know. I will try it as you suggested for the specific title I need to update information for and see if IMDb allows it under the Camera and Electric Department. Much appreciated.

Thank you again!

Hi, @Fran:

As of yesterday, most stock footage credits (over 93%) are listed under the “Other Crew” category.

Shouldn't we continue to use that section instead of starting to send them to the camera department?

Thanks for the data ljdoncel, in that case @taxi2venus, we would better send the credits to the Additional Crew category.

@Fran Hey Fran! Thank you for letting me know. I will place the stock footage then under additional crew as suggested.

Hi @taxi2venus,

Additionally to what is said herebefore, when a stock footage is specifically credited on-screen for a certain department (say Camera Department), then it should be submitted to the similar section on IMDb page. At least, unless otherwise stated in the IMDb guidelines, that is not for now.
