Star Wars A New Hope Misc Edit

John Wayne's voice is in Star Wars A New Hope. https://www.metv.com/stories/john-wayne-secretly-appeared-in-wagon-train-star-wars & https://www.cbr.com/star-wars-john-wayne-garindan/ How do I do a Misc Edit because the cast edits are locked?

In my personal opinion, I don't think that this counts as a proper IMDb credit for John Wayne.

According to the second article linked above (https://www.cbr.com/star-wars-john-wayne-garindan/), sound designer Ben Burtt explained how the character Garindan's voice was generated:
And I was wondering back a few months ago how I did it – because I keep notes and tapes – and I discovered it was an electronic buzzing which had come off of my synthesizer that was triggered by a human voice. And I listened to it and realized it was John Wayne – I had found some loop lines in the trash from the studio that had been thrown away. So the buzzing was triggered by some dialog like ‘All right, what are you doin’ in this town’ or something like that.
(Emphasis added.) So it doesn't sound like it was Wayne's actual voice, even distorted, but a synthesized buzzing which was triggered by Wayne's voice. That's pretty far from Wayne having his own voice in the film.

Uncredited voice roles are normally not eligible for IMDb cast listing, but if John Wayne's actual undistorted voice had been used, the exception for voice cameos by high-profile actors would apply (Wayne is one of the highest-profile movie actors of all time). In this case, though, with a synthesized buzzing sound merely triggered by Wayne's voice, I don't think it should count. If Wayne himself had watched Star Wars (and he well might have, since he lived until 1979), I doubt he would have been able to guess where his voice had been used for a sound effect in the film if Ben Burtt didn't tell him.

@gromit82 Actually it does count because I watched this youtube video link

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrjOqoWdRn0

And you can see that John Waynes archive voice recording was used in Star Wars 4, but they altered his voice it for the character Garindan.

I would like to see John Wayne as Garindan get added for Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope 1977 Cast and Crew IMDB page. Unfortunately, I cannot add John Wayne in Star Wars 4 since the IMDB cast and crew section is on lockdown. And this was John Waynes final role, But The Shootist 1976 wasn't actually a final role that John Wayne appeared in, it was Star War: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977) that was John Waynes final role for his archive voice recording which was used before his death in 1979.

Ok thank you. Should it fit in the triva section?

Cowboy: Yes, I think this could be a good entry for the trivia section.

I too doubt it counts as cast, although since source of the archival sound is unknown it might be a borderline case and maybe could be eligible with an "(archive sound)" attribute, especially since Wayne's voice was reworked into something very much new and recontextualized. It is not necessarily contradicting the guidelines on archive footage cast listings and might be an exception akin to Sir Alec Guinness's reworked voice in Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015). It was eligible for listing because it is not known exactly which movie it is from and it was significantly reworked to feature new character's name.
