Stage Name vs Legal Name?

Hello,

I'm new to the acting business and submitting my acting resume.

I have an old credit under a former stage name in IMDB but for my upcoming auditions in commercials and film, I'll be using my current legal name.

I'm not sure if I want to keep that stage name because it was a flippant decision. Should I just leave it alone for now since that is the only credit listed on IMDB and I'm new to the business? Or should I just change it to my original name before signing with representation?

Hi parkj23 -

We only allow one page listing on the site per individual, if you are looking to add your current information to the site and you are now working under your legal name, I would recommend that you change the name on your IMDb page to your current name listing (your credit under the older stage name will still remain as an AKA attribute on the credit).

For detailed instructions on how to change a name, I encourage you to review our Help Guide.  Otherwise, if you already have two separate pages listed on the site, one under your old stage name and one under your current name, you can request a name page merge.
