Someone is submitting false IMDb credits and IMDb is just greenlighting them all

So I stumbled upon this odd issue. Some user is randomly adding directors to movies they didn't work on. Example: Sidney J. Furie suddenly has directing credits on low budget Italian horror movies. Unfortunately, someone at IMDb is greenlighting all of these changes almost sight unseen. They are doing a lot of damage to pages and, unfortunately, it is overwhelming to fix them all one at a time. I submitted five revisions that were approved. And guess what happened next? IMDb approved this person's next set of false edits/credits, so my work was pretty much for nothing. Is there no qualilty control at IMDb? Is there no way to contact IMDb directly? I want to tell someone the titles and directors being screwed with, but don't have the time or energy to do them all by submitting them manually.

Hi @udar55 -

Thanks for reporting this. It seams like they were all coming from the same account. Credits were deleted and extra steps were taken on the account to avoid them being added again.

Cheers!

Thanks for the reply. I just submitted a bunch more manually, but the damage done is pervasive. Can I send someone info on what I've uncovered so far? Or post it here? So far it is on tons of films and extends to tech credits as well.

@Bethanny Thank you! This film entry is a great example. It seems they generally add the same directors in every page they are vandalizing. Norman Mailer is the director, but they added seven (!!!) more directors; added two writer credits (Sean Bishop and Samuel Sherman); added three new producers.

I'm not sure if you can tell who the user is that submitted all of these, but if you can it might be best to revert everything they've done on every film they touched. They have done this to tons of films. Like I said earlier, it is A LOT of stuff and I submitted what I could before I got exhausted.

Thanks again for your help and looking at it.

@udar55 All the ones reported by you are also coming from the same account. I have decided to delete everything added recently by this user, give it a couple of hours to go through and let me know if you still see any incorrect info.

Cheers!

@Bethanny Thanks so much for your help on this! Looked at the films I noticed before and it appears to all be cleared up. Again, appreciate you catching this message and taking the time.
