Solved

So, every review is now being manually vetted?

Usually when I submit a review it is approved within minutes, if not seconds.  This is because IMDB has an automatic review system.  I realise that you can't allow every review through without some manual intervention, otherwise you'd have all sorts of controversial nonsense being posted, that's why you have a keyword-based scan that potentially leads to a manual review. My reviews are never controversial and don't contain words that might fall foul of a censor so I am always surprised when one ends up in the manual queue.  After more than 4,600 reviews on IMDB I know what to avoid.  Plus, you’d think the bot would take this history into account before pinging my review for some perceived infraction.

Of late, however, almost all of my reviews are being manually vetted, creating delays in their publishing:

·        Last week I reviewed an episode of The Sopranos that, for some reason, ended in the manual queue.  To make things worse, it took three days to be published, two days longer than the estimated processing time!

·        Last night I submitted reviews for Ricky Gervais: Mortality (contribution #260105-120855-265921) and One Battle After Another (#260105-124454-970421) and, once again, they ended in the manual queue.  Both have estimated processing dates of 6 January but, based on past experience, I’m not holding my breath.

If IMDB is going to refer almost every review for manual vetting, at least staff up in your moderator area.  By the fact that the reviews are taking more than double the estimated processing time clearly you haven’t increased your number of moderators in line with the higher level of censorship.

Hi grantss-

Thank you for the feedback! I will pass this along to the respective team.

Depending on several factors, submissions might take longer to be processed which is why they might not be up on the site immediately.

Your reviews will be processed accordingly.

Cheers!
