Since when single covers became eligible as primary images for music videos?
For quite some time single covers were actually ineligible as primary images for music videos according to IMDb guidelines. I remember a lengthy discussion I've participated in, where it was clearly stated that such cases should be corrected overtime. So ocassionally, I did.
Today I've discovered that guidelines have since made a 180-degree change and now record covers are not only eligible but are actually preferred. Clearly something I've missed in 2022-2023 so if anyone points me to any related discussion or news I'll be grateful.
In my humble opinion most music videos which have title cards and/or memorable visuals look better with music video type so that's what I'll still be uploading in case of most titles I'm adding. Mind you, I'm not opposed to idea of single covers representing music videos (I mean, it can look great and very representative in both of the IMDb ratios), but I just feel that, unlike podcasts, we have enough visuals for better primaries. Making single/album cover art a primary for a music video kinda redirects attention from an actual music video back to music which is odd for Internet Movie Database.
