Solved

Self as a Cast

There is the problem for two of them:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt38438292/

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt38948229/

he is credited as Self and Self - Guest, but he appears in Cast section.

Also I am not allowed to get Adam and Ariana to appear as Self in this episode: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt37092729

Hi @de_crecy,

The problems you've mentioned are mostly fixed.

You are welcome (you have been allowed) to make such edits, and previously it was explained how to:

Concerning the Kevin Hart's role in his own stand-up comedy, I changed the misleading "Self" character to his name in the Cast section. It is not explained in IMDb guidelines, however, lead roles in stand-up comedy should be treated as acting cast, the same as musicians in their own music performances. If not credited otherwise on screen, they should be listed under their real or stage names in the Cast section. Of course, this can not be applied to the audience and crew members which may appear on screen.

Unfortunately, his credit in the Self section is still pending to be removed (#251217-090021-743000); perhaps they cannot comprehend any reasonable thing outside the framework of incompletely formulated guidelines.

It seems to be hard to find a stand-up show which is listed like that, so I doubt it is current policy.

Some of Ricky Gervais' shows have his name in the role field, but the credits are under Self.

I agree, Kevin Hart is credited as Self in all of his stand ups.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt13433082/

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4669186/

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2609912/

All of them will be in Self category just this one will be in Cast category, I don't think that's right.
