Selection of featured audience reviews looks biased

I have looked at the criteria for how IMDb picks the 'featured' audience reviews for movies and series, and it seems that they are not followed at all. It sure looks like someone at IMDb just plucks a review out based on their own bias, whether that be positive or negative. A recent example (out of many) is the series Minx. The selected review is almost always positive, despite the fact that it may have fewer helpful than unhelpful votes, and that there are many other negative reviews with a much higher ratio of helpful to unhelpful votes.

Explanation please.
