Seeking Source for Carlos Villarías Death Date Listed on IMDb

Hello, I’m posting on behalf of the family of Carlos Villarías, best known for portraying Dracula in the 1931 Spanish-language version of the film. His relatives in Spain are planning a visit to Los Angeles, hoping to locate his burial site and honor his memory in person. On their behalf, I've reached out to multiple official sources, libraries, and archives, and searched newspaper databases including the Los Angeles Times, but none have been able to confirm the death date listed on IMDb: April 27, 1976. Since the IMDb entry includes a specific date, the family is wondering if anyone here might know the source of that information or have insight into how it was verified. They’re not seeking personal details, just hoping to trace the origin of the data to help guide their visit and pay their respects. If you prefer to share information privately, I’d be glad to follow up through the forum or any method you suggest. Thank you for any guidance or context you can offer

Hi kassela_50- Due to privacy consideration we are unable to provide any details about our sources or contributions. The information in IMDb comes from various sources. Most of it is either researched by our staff or submitted by our users. For more information, please visit this link: https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/general-information/how-do-you-get-your-information-on-imdb/GGD7NGF5X3ECFKNN?ref_=helpcs_c Even if we could track down who sent a specific piece of data, it is our policy not to disclose contact details or any other information about our users and contributors. Cheers!

Thank you for your guidance. I understand and respect the policy about not sharing contributor names. I was simply hoping that the person who originally submitted the information might see this thread and choose to respond, or that someone else might have additional information they’d be willing to share. It’s been frustrating to search through so many official sources without finding the burial information the family is hoping for. One possibility we’ve considered is that, in the absence of immediate family, Mr. Villarías may have been cremated either by a friend or by Los Angeles County. The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, Office of Decedent Affairs, oversees final arrangements in cases where no next of kin can be located. This can include cremation and the respectful disposition of remains, often without a publicly listed burial site. If that was the case, we’re hoping someone connected to that time, or familiar with how county records from the 1970s are handled, might be able to shed light on what happened or suggest where to look next. The family would be deeply grateful for any insights, and I’m happy to follow up on their behalf. Thank you again for your time and reply.

When in U.S.A., you may contact "Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk", (Registro civil local), where you may obtain the information you are looking for. You may also contact the "Registro Civil Consular de España" of the United States of America. I hope you find what you are looking for. Cheers!
