Saturday Night Live Cast

I just read an article on the Huffington Post regarding Saturday Night Live. It implied that current cast member Sarah Sherman was a past cast member and ended her time in 2023. I knew this was incorrect so I checked her IMDb page. Turns out that her SNL credits are split between Self and Actress. So whoever wrote the article only saw the 20 credits under Actress and didn't noticed the 36 under Self. So she is listed as 'Various" or a character's name for a given sketch when she is listed under Actress. I looked at a few other cast members and it's the same thing.

Shouldn't all SNL members be listed as Self to avoid this?

Does she actually appear as herself, out of character?

Among her current "Self" credits is "Self - flower/Chucky". Does that make sense?

Perhaps the more obvious suggestion would be that "Self" should be used less in those credits.

There is also a rule that performers playing a scripted, fictional version of themselves should be listed with the performer's name as the character name to avoid moving the credit to the 'Self' category.

Hi @ben_hampel -

As Peter_pbn mentioned above, the credits shouldn't include "Self" if a character was performed.  I have now moved these SNL credits to the "Actress" section of Sarah Sherman's page, the changes should be live on the site shortly.

This seems to be a widespread problem with the series. The last several episodes look like this. I'm not sure how far back the mislabeling of the actors' roles goes.
