Rifftrax movies: Edited from or featuring?

Currently, a movie connection for RIFFTRAX: ICE CREAM MAN (2018) says that it features ICE CREAM MAN (1995). I believe the connection should be "edited from." Like all Rifftrax movies, this one takes the original film and dubs three comedians over it, as they make jokes about it. I tried to make this correction, but it was rejected.

Rifftrax is made by veterans of MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000, the show where a janitor and his two robots mock movies in the same fashion. The movie featured in each episode is listed in IMDb's movie connections as "featuring."

In that show, however, the movie is indeed featured along with several skits. In Rifftrax movies, the film being mocked is the entire show. RIFFTRAX: ICE CREAM MAN doesn't feature ICE CREAM MAN. It is ICE CREAM MAN with jokes added.

I could be wrong. The guide doesn't explicitly tell us what to do with titles like the Rifftrax movies.

edited from part of the movie has been constructed by editing footage from a previous title; there is no indication the footage is from a different movie
featured in extracts from the title are featured in a subsequent movie, for example, on TV or characters attend a cinema screening during the movie, or the audio from a program is heard on a TV or a flashback sequence or a clip in a review program

Jay: I think that "features"/"featured in" is indeed a more appropriate connection. In "edited from" connections, "there is no indication the footage is from a different movie." But if I understand correctly, in Rifftrax: Ice Cream Man, the comedians acknowledge that they are watching the movie called Ice Cream Man

In the case of MST3K, it looks like "features" is indeed used as the standard connection for the film that Tom Servo, Crow, and Joel or Mike watch in each episode: see https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0757564/movieconnections for an example.
