Review Removal General Question

I have a question on whether a user gets notified about the reasons an already approved review has been removed, or it just disappears? Do you generally recommend trying posting the same review again? In this particular case, I do not want my review reinstated as I already wrote a new one, but it was approved twice (was edited afterwards) and was on there for 4 months. Just curious.
