Review Declined

Hi, my past several reviews, and edits to previous reviews have been declined repeatedly -after pending for days and days. My reviews used to be published in a matter of minutes, but I feel like -if this is a thing- my account may have (internally) become flagged for some reason (perhaps because of series of repeated and small (punctuation/grammatical) edits to a previous review)?  Here is my most recent declined review:

  • We Light the Way (18 September 2022)
    • Text: I still don't find myself honestly caring for any one of the characters in this show (though I feel probably will be rooting for the Queen and the Sir Criston going forward), I think I probably dislike them all at least a little, but God is this show masterfully presented -- script, acting, wardrobe, set, lighting, choreography, cinematography, soundtrack, etc, this episode was perfection, especially in the face of the tragedy that the Rings of Power has been so far (I give it a shot every Friday, and now this Sunday's episodes just accentuates how subpar it really sadly is).

Still don't like it, but man am I looking forward to next week!
    • Summary: Masterful
    • User Review Addition

Hi -

Can we have the 18 digit submission reference to the review? Or the modification of the review?

Thanks!

Hi @Bethanny  Thank you for your reply, here is the reference # for the most recent submission: #220919-050357-775504

Here is an example of an edit that was declined a little while back as well: #220904-034018-089104 -- I will try not to make minor annoying edits to reviews in the future, did not realize it could be an issue!

@chaakar Hi!

Submission #220919-050357-775504 was declined because it does not focus on the content of the title. In this case commenting another series instead of the series being reviewed.

On submission #220904-034018-089104 it looks like the correction was sent twice so it was detected as a duplicate.

Doing minor corrections to a review like spelling or punctuation is never a problem do not worry about that.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Thanks for your attention to this Bethanny.

I'm relieved to know that making minor corrections/adjustments is not an issue, as little things always bother me when I re-read after submitting!

Sorry, I was wondering if that might be the reason, but I felt that I was reflecting on the other title through the frame of reference of the title at hand an the context in which it had aired. And I also reviewed the guidelines where it explicitly states, "Feel free to mention other titles you consider similar and how this one rates in comparison to them," so perhaps the is not the reason?

Do you have any thoughts on why it has been taking days for anything I do to publish? I used to take hardly a few minutes; an edit is not even making it though, duplicate or not.

I don't anything about how the review process works, but i still cn't shake the feeling my account may be "flagged" or something (for lack of a better word) 😅

@chaakar There is no problem with your account. Regarding on how long it is taking to process thing we do have different processing times for each data and even though sometimes editors process everything very fast, sometimes there is more data and it will take a little longer to process.

Cheers!

Ok, I appreciate the reassurance about my account.

Again, with respect to #220919-050357-775504, I reviewed the user review guidelines before posting and under "What to include" it explicitly states, "Feel free to mention other titles you consider similar and how this one rates in comparison to them," and I believe this is exactly what I did. So perhaps the is not the reason? If it is not, not sure why my review was declined -- should I try posting it again?

@chaakar Try posting it again, preferably focusing exclusively on reviewing this specific show, you can also post it and give me the reference number here so I can review it personally.

Cheers!

Thanks, Bethanny, I re-posted and it went through immediately!

I would have taken out the bit you were suggesting, but this 600 character minimum is really a pian -- don't know if you might be able to convey feedback about this requirement, I see decent reviews all the time now where the reviewer has to apologize for adding a random bits to end as a work around. Honestly, sometimes a well worded sentence or two is more than enough. At the very least, maybe IMDb can consider lifting the requirement for silver classified contributors or something?

Again, have appreciated your time and attention,

Cheers!
