Review bombing
Dear imdb, I've been a longtime follower and member, with a lot of great films coming into my life thanks to not only the (sometimes absurd) top 250 but what other users have to offer. However, it is clear that this site's star rating system is being undermined by bots and review bombs. Episode 3 of HBO's The Last of Us is only the latest example. At this point I'm just checking rottentomatoes, metacritic, and some semi-relatable reviewer, rather than trusting a movie rating in this community that has gone from "sometimes wonky, very straight-white-male heavy, still halfway decent," to "hive of political loons for whom any female/LGBT/POC representation, no matter how historical or canonical, is 'woke police overkill and it's infecting my stories!'" You can't just stop an influx of perpetually outraged trolls, I realize that. But isn't there some way to block fake "one star rating" program infestations? Can we determine if they're coming from any notorious disinformation or alt-Right centers? Is entertainment-related content online to be taken over by the loud minority of immature, toxic drivel?

Hi @ischulz - This reviews are not accepted as per our guidelines, keep in mind some can escape our editors as a human error, if you see any review like this please use report button to make our editors aware. Regarding ratings, our voting system already detects and defeats attempts to stuff the ballot and skew the rating, as demonstrated by the difference between the weighted average and the arithmetic mean on the vast majority of titles in the database. For additional information about IMDb ratings and weighted averages, please refer to our FAQ. Cheers!
